Randi representing LA in DC

Representing the entire City on things IT, Randi will be off to the nation's capitol at the end of the month to brief industry leaders on the state of opportunities here in LA.

Of course with the state of the City budget, if the fears are justified, what opportunities actually exist? Additionally, now that the City is locked into ONLY purchasing it's computers from HP and Dell all of the other vendors and manufacturers are pretty on the outside looking in.

Isn't this department 900K in the red? Who is paying for this trip? A vendor?

The ITA Travel Guidelines indicate that the daily maximum allowed for a hotel room is $125 per night (it's actually a Controller guideline, too). If the seminar is being held at a hotel that costs more than $125 (like the $279 the Ritz is charging), but you can get a room at another hotel AND adding a taxi to the price makes it cheaper to stay at, you're expected to stay at the cheaper hotel. ITA has made every other manager/staffer that has traveled follow these guidelines. The Controller won't pay for anything above and beyond the per diem (daily allowance) of $189 per night for lodging, meals, etc. Let's see if Randi takes the "don't do as I do, do as I say do" approach and stays at the Ritz anyway.

PS - How many of us have actually stayed at a Ritz?
